Based in London, UK and Shanghai, China, Yutong is a versatile Musical Director, Composer and Performer working in Musical Theatre. Her professional credits range across both countries and she is particularly interested in New Musical Development, and musical theatre which has cultural or societal focuses.
Yutong is currently the Musical Director on the SIX UK and International Tour. Before this she was the Andrew Lloyd Webber Associate Musical Director at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Her debut Chinese Musical 'The Butterfly on the Bund 1939' (蝶变), for which she is Composer/Arranger/Musical Supervisor/Producer, has played two sold-out runs at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, and is currently on a Chinese National Tour; the show is supported by the prestigious Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation. Yutong works regularly in performing arts education, licensing and production and maintaining theatric links between China and UK.
